Maybe it's because I am a parent and my teenage children are exposed to commercials such as this, but what message is this commercial sending. You have a teenage daughter in her BEDroom, her father walks in, and a boy (who you assume) is her boyfriend, is hiding behind the curtain. Now, I know they are fully dressed and there is nothing remotely sexual implied by the commercial, but I do think when you show a teenage girl sneaking a boy into her bedroom, you are creating thoughts for kids that they may not have otherwise had.
My question is this, why do you have to take a (what seems to be) family restaurant and blow the image with a mishap advertisement such as this? I visited the Red Robin website and they even have a Red Robin kid page with games and coloring pages. They must be trying to at least half-way create an image of being family oriented. I can think of so many other ways to do a great advertisement (that is family friendly) without placing two teenagers in a bedroom together in order to SELL A BURGER, for goodness sakes!
So, what gives Red Robin?
